Life coaching is a valuable tool for anyone going through anything in life. It could be job-related stress, a rocky relationship or anxiety in general. I specialize in helping people overcome their poor relationships with food. Your issue may not be obvious or even be caused by something happening right now. Your addiction to food may have started with stress from a prior life event.
If you are overeating due to a current stress in your life, not only are you consuming too many calories from the wrong kinds of foods but in many cases, stress will keep your body from letting go of fat. This is due to a hormone called cortisol, which is also known as the “stress hormone”. Cortisol influences the changes in our body during times of stress. In a normal day, at some point, your body reacts to stress and then returns to normal. However, these days, we are experiencing higher stress levels for longer periods of time. Our bodies do not always have a chance to recover.
We can't always control life events. However, we can choose how we react to them. The prominent issues are which stressors we focus on, how we keep them from consuming us and how we move on from them. I will guide you through this process, and together we will get you to a better place with food.
